In my case, I have a MacBook connected to the WRT1900AC using the SSID for the 5GHz band/network. And I have a number of older devices connected using the SSID for the 2.4GHz band/network (two of which are: an HP printer, and a Raspberry PI). Since updating to firmware level 1.1.8.164461 I can no longer ssh into my Raspberry PI from my MacBook.

Bottom line, the Linksys router can not access the drive’s partitions even though it can"see" the drive. Validated the router is working by plugging another WD MyBook essentials 1 Tb drive (PC version) and the routers sees multiple partitions. Worked with LinkSys Here’s the steps I took to setup a Linksys Router with Mac OS X. Peel off the sticker on the back of the router. Plug in the router’s power cord. Connect the router to your modem via the supplied Ethernet cord and the port marked ‘Internet’. Connect the router to your Mac via Ethernet.

Changed the security password. Connected my Mac (which is directly connected via ethernet) using Airport and one of our iPods. The unknown MAC address is still showing up but, running a ping test from my Mac came up with "Host is down" and "Request timeout" to it's IP address. Running ping tests from the router never ever worked for me before.
